You can choose either the “Songtaew” mini bus or the motorcycle taxi to travel from the Lat Krabang station to Hua Takhe Old market, which is also known as “Udompon Market”, situated at Soi Lat Krabang 17. The trip takes approximately 10 minutes.
Touch of History
“Luang Prot – Taan Liam” waterfront community used to be an old title of the Hua Takhe old market. It was named so to honor the land donors of this canal market. In the past, Thailand’s main transportation and commuting mode was by boat. It was therefore inevitable that this “Luang Prot - Taan Liam” canal-front community, which was the intersection of three canals, namely the Crocodile Canal, the Lam Pla Thio Canal and the Prawet Burirom Canal, was a bustling market, crowded with people and traffics.
The mellowness of this traditional community blending perfectly with the new generations’ vibe through "Art" at this Hua Takhe Market is worth the exploration. The local families living by the river still maintain their traditional way of life. The simplicity of life can still be seen everywhere within the market area, whether it be the school, the steel lathing factory, the mackerel steaming household business or the picture frame shop, all run by the locals, blended in a perfect combination with the youth of new generations.
Khun Nuch, the café owner is very kind and friendly. The restaurant offers a great variety of Southern Thai cuisine and cooked-to-order dishes. The café section serves fresh smoothies and refreshing fruit juices. Visitors can be ravished by the river view and relaxed atmosphere.

Khun Pao is the venue owner, as well as a cat enthusiast. You can either choose to fill your stomach with a toothsome wide variety of food or just nibble yummy snacks. The café also offers a stunning river view.
Highlight : Khun Pao showcased all his cat bosses paddling together with him to collect trashes from the river. Some of them even jumped into the water for an awesome swimming show.

If visitors traverse along the path to the back of Hua Take market, there are still quite a number of mysteries hidden in this old community. We’d like to take you to explore the College of Fine Arts or Wittayalai Chang Silp, a place where various renowned Thai artists were trained.
On the way to the college, many splendid wall arts can be found for the guests to take pictures of and embrace the artsy atmosphere. It is certain that you will discover cool artworks. But the fun just doesn’t end here. There are also places especially created for those who are into supernatural stuff.
